Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you well and happy!
I'm going to be super busy this weekend so I thought I would just hide out in my craft room and get creative today. It was too HOT to do anything else. The house work will have to wait! I played around with Pears today because I had one for lunch lololo.
But first I wanted to tell you all how wonderful my DH is. He came home after work and said get dressed we're having Date Night tonight! It didn't take me long to jump on that one. We usually do something on Saturdays but I have a Banquet to attend tomorrow night.
He said grab the Boys and lets go up the hill where it is cooler! We took a very beautiful drive up to Big Bear Lake and found a Pizza Parlor with outside seating and they accepted Dogs on the patio. We met a couple great families with their dogs and had dinner and chatted and then drove home. It was a perfect Date Night Date with all my boys.
I Love you Jeff!
I saw this beautiful Sketch over at Sharon Fields Blog. It is the first sketch for the Stampin Queens weekly Sketch Challenges so I thought I would play along.http://gettincrafty.typepad.com/stampin_queens_sketch_cha
Here is their Sketch
and this is what I came up with
I hope you like it! It was a really fun sketch.
The next Sketch Challenge was from Create with Connie and Mary http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com
I really like both of their creations, and this sketch was fun to play along with.
This is what I made from their Sketch
What do you think about my Pairs of Pears lololol
Thanks for the inspiration Ladies. I had fun playing in my craft room today, that's for sure!
Now it is your turn to go and create something fun.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 08-26-2011
Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
What a week! I'll get into everything a little later on this weekend, but for now lets see what our Sketch Frenzy Friday Design Team came up with for us! It wad Deb Currier's turn to create a sketch and it is a beauty!
Check this one out!
I had so much fun with it, and I happened to have received a small SU order yesterday so I had to dive into the new stuff right!
This is what I came up with. I just kept on adding and adding to the card. I didn't feel like it was finished so I did a little more to it. I do like how it turned out, how about you?
I colored and cut out the Little Witch and the Frankenstein and then put Crystal Effects all over them to make them shiny. Then I popped them up with Dimensionals. I stamped a set of the images with Stays On Ink on Natural White card stock and let that dry then I shaded around the images with Basic Gray Classic Ink and a Aqua Painter. Then I sponged Basic Grey Ink around the white piece. I layered the white piece several times with (Black, DSP and Pumpkin Pie) I cut out two bats that were stamped in Basic Black Ink and mounted them to the card base. I added three coordinating brads (I love SU Products for that reason, everything coordinates!) I cut a little piece of Peach Parfait Stitched-Poly Ribbon and made a small loop at the top of the Center Piece. I made a little sign out of the Modern Label Punch which I shortened a bit then stamped Creep On Over on Natural White CS which I trimmed to fit on a Pumpkin Pie scrap which I punched also. Card Stock -Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler. Stampin' Write Markers- Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
I decorated the inside of the card too. A couple VersaMark Bats and some layered DSP.
I was really into making this card so I went even further and made a designer envelope to put it over the top!
Could you tell I was going through stamping withdrawals again lololo.
Here is the back view. I just love this DSP paper it is very colorful. It is called Frightful Sight.
Now here is the front view.
I featured the Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set and the Frightful Sights Designer Series Paper from the New Holiday Mini that will be releases September 1st. Let me know if you need one.
Now it is your turn to go on over to visit Robbie Rubula's amazing blog. She is so darn talented, I really enjoy her work. http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/
If you would like to show us your creation please upload it to our site http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
PS If you leave me a comment i will have my DH select a random # comment and send the card and envelope out to you. USA only please, as I am a small time operator (Smile).
Thanks for stopping by and now on with the Mini Blog Hop. Don't forget to save up some time and create something fun for yourself.

Sketch Frenzy Friday
Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
It's Sketch Frenzy Friday Yippee! Our Sketch this week came from Angela Walters. All I could see was Pop Up Windows. It was so much fun I just loved it!
Here it is;
This is what I came up with
And this is what I came up with for the inside flaps. The little bow that is on the top right is made from the Scallop Border Ribbon Punch that was scrunched in the middle and trimmed a bit and a brad in the center. A gal has to have some bling on her card too so Rhinestones it was!
I added a little something in the inside to make it a bit more special.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop is to go and visit Robbie Rubula http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/ .
If you would you like to make a card from this wonderful Sketch please add it to our web site here http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/. Now it is your turn to go and create something fun.

VC-Rocks Final Blog Hop of the Summer
Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
This is a bitter sweet day for most of us over at VC-Rocks because this is our last Hop of the Summer. This Summer went too fast! Between my DD's move then our move and now my Mom's surgery it just went too fast.
Several good thing I can say (Now) is that we have settled in to our new home , We are really enjoying the area. Redlands is one fun town . Market Night on Thursdays, Concerts in the Park Fridays, Big Bear and Arrowhead Lakes near by plenty of fun restaurants and SHOPPING and a grocery store just with in a few miles!!!!.
(Lake Arrowhead is really the place that the bottled water comes from btw!) We are even 15 degrees cooler than where we used to live and get a daily breeze in the afternoon. Thank goodness!
Well, Enough of that let's get on with the Blog Hop!!! If you want to start from the beginning of our blog hop please click here http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com to get you there.
You most likely came to my blog from the very talented Sharon Field's blog http://www.createdbyu.blogspot.com
Sharon is so very talented. I love her blog on Saturdays, as she usually has super tutorials!
Our Theme for the Blog Hop this month is Glorious Punches so, I made you several examples of things you can make using punches. The first project was a simple flower made by using the Fancy Flower Punch and the three little leaves are punched from the Bird Builder Punch.
The next card displays three different types of flower options a cow and a smiling sun.
I used the Scallop Circle for the crow and just trimmed hear and there and added a little piece of a flower from the Boho Blossom Punch for the beak. The sun is made using two flowers from the Boho Blossom Punch, then for the face I used the Owl Builder Punch. The vine with the flowers on it are the leaf from the Bird Builder Punch and the Boho Blossom Punch for the flowers. The Tulip and the Long Flower are all made with the Bird Builder Punch. I ripped some Old Olive CS and cut little slices in it to make the grass. I made the background plane so you could see the objects better, otherwise I would have added clouds too.
My final project is a card with a pair of nesting Cranes.
The Cranes were made by using the Blossom Petals Punch, Extra Large Oval, Boho Blossom, Bird Builder, Owl Builder, Scallop Oval, 1/2" Circle and the Modern Label Punches. The nest used the Scallop Oval, Bird Builder and the Boho Blossom Punches. I used a tropical looking DSP Beyond the Garden for the background.
Well, that's all I have for today. I hope you enjoyed your visit to My Little Patch of Dirt x 2, please come back anytime! I would love to hear from you as to what you think about these projects, so please leave me a comment. Now to continue your journey please go and visit Angela Walters over at http://www.lifewithawienerdog.com. You will just love what Angela and Frank have in store for you.

It's Sketch Frinzy Friday Blog Hop Time!
Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
I just can not believe the Summer is flying by so quickly!
Kids are returning to school, VC-Rocks is almost over and the weather here in Redlands is cooling down.
My Mom is on the mend and we have sorted out a lot of the issues from last week. Thank God! They see my Sister and I coming and they dart in different directions. I don't know if that is a good thing or not lololo! But she is getting the care she needs and deserves. Thank Goodness, we are a close family and that we are able to be there for our Mother and to make sure she gets proper care.
Our Sketch for today comes from Tina Munzke-Taves
It is a really nice sketch and was a pleasure to work with.
This is what I came up with;
I thought if I used the corner rounder it would soften the edges a bit. I used three Embossing Folders on this card;Square Lattice, Flower Garden & Perfect Polka Dots. The sentiment is from the My Friend Stamp Set stamped with Basic Black Classic Ink mounted on a Modern Label Punch. The Card Stock I used was Always Artichoke, Marina Mist (My Favorite) & Early Espresso. Paisley Petals DSP for the background. I just love using the Bakers Twine and ran it 2 times around the smaller Marina Mist Polka Dot piece. You can never have enough Pearls on a card either so I added 3 medium sized to the top left hand side of the card and two small on the sentiment.
I cut some DSP and pasted it on to the inside of the card for a little extra fun.
I have always wanted to make an envelope to match the card, so I cut a piece of DSP and trimmed it to fit inside the envelope, I could not believe how easy it was to do this.
Well that's all out of me today. Could you tell I was going through creating withdrawals lololol.
Now you will be off to see what Robbie Rubula has come up with http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/ I know you will not be disappointed. If you would like to add your creation to out website please do so here http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
we would love to see it.
That's all for today, but do come back this weekend as we are going to have our final VC-Rocks Blog Hop of the Summer! The theme will be Punches. I have something fun planned for or you.
Now it is your turn go and create something fun.

Sketch Frenzy Friday
Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!
I am so glad it is Friday Yippee! We are having friends over on Saturday night, I so need some time with friends and a rest!
This weeks Sketch was brought to us by Jennifer Weide. I really like the simple lines in this sketch. I felt you could go dramatic or use a more simplistic approach to it. I think to did a little of both.
Here is Jennifer's Sketch:
This is what I came up with:
And this is the inside:
I hope you liked my card and will continue on with our Mini Blog Hop and stop in and see what Robbie Rubula has made for us today.http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/
Robbie is so very talented your in for a treat.
Then if you would like to create a card of your own using this sketch you can upload it to our webpage at http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
We would love to see what you have created by using this sketch for inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and now it is your turn to go and create something fun.
If you want to know what is going on with my mom I posted a bit of our weeks adventures for ya.
Another week flew by. Does it ever stop???
My Mom is now in a rehabilitation hospital and is adjusting from Shoulder Replacement Surgery last Thursday. Somehow she contracted a Staff Infection since her surgery in late March. They had to go in take everything out re-do it and put new parts back in. She is on a heavy dose of antibiotics for 6 weeks to try to get ride of the infection. She is at a really good care facility- supposedly but someone has to be there at all times to watch them! I know everyone is overworked these days but Really!!! This is the best rehabilitation Skilled Nursing Facility I have ever seen. It is Private and reminds me of a day spa Really!!! But what a week!
I just know it will take a few weeks of everyone to get her and her special needs figured out for example:
1. She is allergic to bell peppers of any kind it is on her chart and what happened... they gave her soup with bell peppers in it even though the lunch order specifically said NO BELL PEPPERS???
2. She is not supposed to have any showers yet! She told her nurse this morning and the nurse said that was not true and was to take a shower. My Mom said the nurse said it was ok for her to take a shower. That is NOT True and she is not supposed to have any showers?? Again it is on her chart???
3. Some random man was in her bathroom last night when she got up to go to the bathroom. Seems his worker fell asleep??? He is quite harmless and is right across the hall from her room? But boy did she get a fright in the middle of the night.
My Mom is 86 years old and very tiny so she now gets intimidated easily. Some one has to stick up for her. That job is left for my Sister and I to do. The sad thing is, in her prime she was really on top of her game and hell on wheels, nothing intimidated her. I think they (The hospital employees) think that all older people are senile NOT MY MOM She is really quite resourceful when she is not ill! Still drives, runs her own house hold and lives alone.
I am grateful that she is doing as well as she is considering her age.
Get well soon Mom!!!! I will keep you all posted as the weeks continue. Looks like she will be there for a month or more.
