Sketch Frenzy Friday 8/29/14 Kinda Eclectic

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I can not believe it is almost the end of Summer? I am so not done with Summer yet! I think it is the Californian in me. Maybe, I require more sunlight than those on the East Coast? Just because it is Labor Day weekend doesn't really mean we have to take the pool down does it???
Oh well, one bright note, I must add is that Fall will come next and it is so very beautiful here in the Autumn. The weather is perfect now. (too cold for swimming though) the leaves change colors and give us a truly wondrous show of Gods mighty handy work. We don't have anything close to Fall in SoCal that's for sure.

Enough of my chit chat let's get on with the real reason you are here  for our SFF Weekly Sketch Challenge.

This weeks sketch was designed by our fearless leader Kim Innis. Boy did she do a great job on this one. I like all the different shapes and features she added to it.

 This is my interpretation of it;

I had just received my Black and White card swaps from my very talented girls over at VC_Rocks in the mail. The cards were all so beautiful that I just had to use that color scheme as part of my inspiration for this weeks card.

Once I had the colors and the sketch figured out all that was needed to finish my card was the additional elements (stamp set and placement). I thought that the Kinda Eclectic stamp set would be perfect since it has the sun image for the circle element and the sentiment could be used for the rectangle shape.
My card is almost completed at this point.I just needed to add two little strips of DSP in lieu of the Washi Tape feature and the three circles.
I punched three little circles and the center of the sun out of a scrap of Basic Black card stock, using the  1/8" and the 1" circle punches.
I only used Basic Black ink and Whisper White Card Stock on the card. The DSP is called Black to Black and is one of my favorites in this years catalog.

Here is a look at the inside of the card. I just added a little strip of the DSP to tie the front and inside of the card together.

I hope you were inspired by this weeks sketch and the card I created from it.   We would love to see what you come up with as well, so please add it to our blog post here. http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

Hope you have a great week and find some time to create something fun!

VC_Rocks Final Blog Hop of the Summer

Hello to all my Rocking friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I can't believe that our VC_Rocks summer event is coming to a close! It was a lot of fun and I was kept really busy with all the swapping, blog hopping, e-mailing, challenges, hotel fun, RAK's, games and our first time State to State activity.

They say all good things must come to an end and we are there! It's our last Blog Hop of the summer (Very Sad Face). The theme for our final hop is to
"Rock Your Creativity with Stampin' Up Color" I'm featuring
BRIGHT Colors!

This is right up my alley (or on my desk lol as it may be) I love bright colors. I created three cards for you this time. My thinking was to try to create the three  cards differently with various levels of color to them. I'll show you what I mean.

(I CASED the first and second cards Ann Sach & Tammy Fite, thanks for the great inspiration ladies) I tweaked them enough to make new cards from them though.

The first card has enough color to know it is a bright card yet, has just a touch of brightness to it with little pops of color.

The second card's background paper and floral focal images captures the eye's attention to the bright color.

My final card goes Color Crazy and it is my favorite style card to create.
BOLD BRIGHT and BEAUTIFUL! To me it is the kind of card that makes you have to spend some time looking at it so that you can find all the details.

Well that's it for this Hop! I hope you like the cards I created and are inspired to create cards for your friends and family using Bright Color. Let me know which one is your favorite style. I would love to know what you think about working with Bright Color! Have fun Hopping!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 8/22/14

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you well and happy!

Happy Friday everyone! I think the rain has stopped for awhile and maybe I can get back into the pool and enjoy the rest of what summer we have left. I had a bout with swimmers ear last week and couldn't hear a darn thing! LOL Jeff was going crazy trying to talk to me lol lol. Is that called seductive hearing-wicked smile!!! ??? But now I am better and I can hear thank goodness too, talk about being in one's on head lol lol One week of that was enough for me!

This week our sketch was designed by Stacey T. and it is a beauty it is!

This week I used a few of the pieces from the Kind of Electic stamp set in the making of my card. I really LOVE this set! I made it bold, bright and beautiful! But, I wasn't happy with it at first and every day I looked at it and said it needs something?????

Here is the first card I came up with;

I felt it was just ok, it had all the elements of the sketch but, I just was not tickled with it. So, today I tore it apart and tweaked it until I was tickled with it. What do you think? Do you like the changes?

Ah! Now that makes me feel better. I really do love to dress up cards! I'm not one for the CAS technique yet, it is the current rage and often it is the simpleness that makes it awesome. I like lots of interest and dimension to my cards! So I am torn between creating what is popular rather than doing what is in my heart. This week my hear won out!

I had so much going on this week completing a couple swaps and being a swap hostess oh ya and being sick...that I didn't have a lot of extra time to sort out the Stampin Buddy thing. I really need someone to sit with me and teach me how to do it w/o a DBWS? Maybe, if I move toward being a Business Demo rather than a Hobbyist I will sort that out in the future.

Supplies used to create this card:

Ink-  Basic Black and So Saffron.
Card Stock-  Whisper White, Real Red and Daffodil Delight.
DSP-  Back to Black
Stamp Set-  Kind of Electic (Love this set)
Punches/Framelits/Thinlits-  Bird Builder, Bitty Butterfly, 1/8th, Flower Fair, Chalk Talk, Finishing Touches and Apothecary Accents.
Misc-  Tea Lace Paper Doilies, So Saffron Marker and Basic Pearls.

I hope you were inspired by our sketch this week and create a card from it! We really do love to see your work. All you have to do is download a photo of your card on to our blog here:

I really hope you have a great week and find some time to create something fun!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 8/15/14

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Hope you all had a great week. I did but, I got water in my ears from swimming and I can't hear a darn thing lolol. It is driving Jeff crazy with me saying  hugh? what did you say What...? I am afraid to drive anywhere also because if it, so I have been staying home the last few days. Isn't it funny how much we rely on our hearing for so many things! I am sure I ill dry up shortly but, for now I am in a world all to my self and it is quiet! However, it did gives me a great excuse to get up in the craft room and create and get caught up  on a bunch of projects I had pending!

Here is this weeks sketch that Elizabeth Harris designed for us;

This is what I came up with. I really liked this weeks sketch it has so much potential. You can go in a million different directions with it. Great job Elizabeth!

I had so much fun making this card. I pulled out some Framelits and punches that I haven't used in a while and tried different embossing folders before I found just the right ones that coordinated well together. I love the DSP that I used for the background piece, it has such wonderful bright and bold colors. It is called Flashback, you gotta get some of this I'm telling you! I used an old technique called Scrunched Flowers. Where I misted a punched out flower with water and scrunched it up in my hand. I un-scrunched (I think I just made that word up lol) it a bit and let it dry out. It looks aged a bit when this is done and gives the card/flower added dimension.

Here is a look at the inside, CAS

"You can never have too much happy" that's for sure, and this card made me happy creating it.

Here is a list of the supplies I used to create this card. I haven't set down yet to try to figure out the fancy method of posting my supplies so it's back to the manual way.

Ink- Basic Black
Card Stock- Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White.
DSP- Flashback
Framelits- Apothecary Accents.
Punches- Blossom, Boho Blossoms and Bird Builder.
Embossing Folder- Fancy Fan.
Stamp Set- Yippee-Skippee
Misc- Large Silver Brad from a PP box.

Thats all from me  for this week. I hope you were inspired and find some time to create something fun for your self. If you do join us please post your card to our blog here http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com
we would love to see it!

Have a great week we will chat soon I am sure.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 8/8/14

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I somehow tweeked my back today so this is going to be a really short post I need to lie down???

Here is this weeks sketch, it was designed by Diane. I really loved it I hope you do too!

This is what I came up with

I used some new DSP that I ordered last week yippee! I love new stuff don't you? The DSP is called Sweet Taffy. I coordinated it with Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry card stock. I chose the From My Heat stamp set because it coordinated with the Framelits Labels Collection dies and it has  great sentiments too.

Here is a look at the inside

That's all there is to this weeks sketch please join us and let us see what you came up with. Here is out link
