Sketch Frenzy Friday 7/27/12

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I have been working all summer and boy am I tired. I am a child care provider for an 8 year old and boy are we having fun. She is fast as a pistol, funny and very sweet and very, very chatty! But she is a pleasure to have around. I am just not used to being around young ones all the time I had forgotten that they are a lot of work. I have totally neglected my blog this summer too.Yikes! (Scroll down to see what I grew)
We had some family came in last weekend then Jeff's son stayed for a week two weeks ago from out of town and it has been crazy hot around here and time is just flying by...When does school start?????? I need a break lolol.

So thought I had better get my Sketch Frenzy Friday card done and posted while I had a few minutes. I know once the weekend comes around I will not be around much again. Looks like we have things to do both days too. I love the summer because you can pack so much into a day.

The Olympics are starting Friday night and we are going to a Opening Ceremony / Pot Luck over at a friends house I am sooooo excited. I really LOVE the Olympics.

I believe I am the creator of this weeks sketch so I hope you like it and give it a try.
This is what I came up with
I won a swap prize a few weeks ago and wanted to use some of the goodies that were from the new Holiday Catalog. The 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon is really pretty and the 3 1/2" tool is super soft and very flexible to work with. The designer buttons are super fun too. I used the Comfort Cafe' DSP
Itty Bitty Banners stamp set paired with the Framelits Bitty Banners Die for the Thank You Banner. I am really getting a lot of use out of these two new items. To finish it off I used Raspberry Ripple ink and the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

Here is a look at the inside.
I used the From My Heart sentiment. That is all there is to it. Please give my sketch a try and show us your creation here http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
Please don't miss what Robbie has going on over at her blog we are always in for a treat. http://inkedx2.blogspot.com/

Now, here a few pictures of the red grapes that I picked yesterday. This year we had over 13 large clusters. Last year I only had two small ones. The grapes are small but very sweet. This year is the first time we ever had such a huge yield. This vine is four years old so it is on it's way to maturity. Next year we should see a better return on the green ones as I think that vine is only 3 years old. I left a couple little clusters on that vine for our guardian lizard so he would keep the spiders and other insects from eating away at the red grapes. Looks like he did his job well.

I put the grapes in a large red bowl but you really couldn't see how big the bowl was so I added a regular size drinking glass to the photo to show the size of the bowl. That is a two gallon pitcher in the background as well. I have two more clusters on the vine that were just not quite ready to cut. Yummy!

That's all from my little patch of dirt today. I hope to get a couple posts done next week too. I miss my blog and all of you! Go create something fun!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 7/20/12

Hello everyone, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!

Yep it's time for another SFF Mini Blog Hop. Today's sketch is from my good friend and a very talented artist Maria Vanderform. Here is her sketch, and boy was I challenged!
So lets see what I can do with this one, humm????

Ok, here you have it. 40 minutes later!
I love this new stamp set From My Heart it is a two case stamp set because the images are a very good size. and there are several nice sentiment stamps with it as well. This set coordinates with the Apothecary Accents Framelits as well! I used Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and Gumball Green CS.  Basic Black Ink and Tempting Turquoise and Garden Green Markers to color the image in. To soften the colors I used my handy Blending tool. I also got to use a couple of my favorite Impression Folders Polka Dots and Stripes and my new favorite Bitty Banners Die that is another Framelits product, 8mm pearls and a Old Olive Button my friend just mailed to me. That sure came in handy lololo. Now for a quick look at the inside.

I again used a sentiment from "From My Heart " Stamp Set. That's all there is to it. I hope you like this card as much as I did in making it. Maria you did good my friend!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 7/13/12

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you well and happy!

Hope everyone is doing OK and staying cool! It has been well over 100 degrees for over a week in good old So. Calif. I hear it has been hot all over!
Yesterday Jeff came home and said "Grab the dogs we are all going up the mountain". We do that from time to time to cool off. We order a pizza and sit out side and have dinner. The boys love to go for a ride and walk around up there. I like it because it is much cooler and I don't have to cook and heat up the kitchen hehehe. It's a Win,Win for all.

Today's amazing sketch was made by Kim Innis. What do you think about this one! I had so much fun with all the various parts and pieces. What  a great sketch Kim.
This is what I came up with.
I am talking fun, fun, fun! I used the new DSP called International Bazaar and to coordinate with the DSP I chose Midnight Muse, Cajon Craze, Summer Starfruit and Garden Green CS. Early Espresso Bakers Twine, the new Textured Impression Folder Fancy Fan. For the sentiments I selected Just Believe and the new Blessings from Heaven from SU. I really love all the sayings in that set. I used two punches 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 for the circle embellishment. .
Now how about a look at the inside.
I just cut a strip of a scrap piece of the international Bazaar along one of the curvy edges. The sentiment is from another new stamp set From My Heart. That's all there is to it.

It's Sketch Frenzy Friday Yippee!

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy.

Another week hear and gone! I am feeling much better and even had some time to create a few cards. My cut has also healed and I finally got my finger prints done today and my TB shot taken care of too. So it looks like all I have to do is get the paperwork in to the Social Services Office and I will be an official baby setter. How come they will let 11 year old's baby set and I have to get the third degree lololo. Child protection sure has come along way. I just want to get paid so I can get some new SU goodies (Big Smile).

Well enough of my chatter, let's get on with our blog hop.
This weeks wonderful sketch was designed by our very talented Jennifer Weide. I really do like the layout because it is so very user friendly and is open to interpretation. Here it is,
This is what I came up with,
I just turned the sketch on it's side and took off from there. These are the items I used to create this card. Comfort Cafe DSP,Vintage Lace, Primrose Petals, Marina Mist, Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla CS. The Boho Blossoms Punch, Summer Afternoon stamp set, Pearls, Vintage Wallpaper Folder and an Adorning Accents Edgelit. I used various colors of Stampin' Write Markers to color in the image then used a blender pen to smooth the color out!
Take a look at the inside too

That's all there is to it.
I think that little puppy is so cute and you know how I love to garden so this is soon becoming one of my go to stamp sets. I hope you like the card and find some inspiration from it.

If you would like to create a card and upload a card to our blog please do so we would all love to see it. http://sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
