Christmas before Thanksgiving

Hello my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy! I have been busy this week creating, creating and more creating. I finished my November Group Card Swap & here it is. I really like our new Northern Flurry Embossing Folder. You can find it in the Holiday Mini Catalog, lower right hand side of this post.
The second card was made by the blog candy (Stampin Up stamp set Snow Swirled) I won over at Marilyn San Clementes  blog http://marilynstamps.blogspot.com   during the Royal Blog Hop. I just love this stamp set!  I CASED a card that was one of her cards that she showcased for the hop, but tweaked it a bit to make it my own. Hope you like it Marilyn lolol.

The third card (Front Door) I also CASED but made a few minor alterations to it.  I saw this great card she called "Welcome Home" at   kjskorner.blogspot.com/2010/11/welcome-home.html . I just love the simplicity of this card. I am really thinking of making these for our Christmas cards, but need a vote from the family still.

Now I am looking for ideas for Christmas Ornaments to make for an Ornament Swap I am in on December 5th. I have to make 22 of them Yikes. I want to make them cost effective but still showcase the creativity of Stampin Up products and there versatility. I saw the red a red and green double paper ornament on SCS then I made the single green one as my own design.
But, I really like the fancy flower ball ornament I have seen on SCS , the name of the type of paper fold slips my mind at the moment. I am going to give it a try this weekend. I'll show you later what I come up with.
Well I hope you enjoy today's post as much as I did in making these fun cards and ornaments. Now it is your turn, go and create something fun. Be safe and drive safely. It is wet over here in California.

Diaper Cake for Cassie and James

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy! Wow, that was some blog hop this weekend! It warmed my heart to read  all the stories of how Operation Write Home has touched so many lives.
Talk about creativity and talent! Boy oh boy there are some really talented paper crafters out there in blog land. You can still enjoy the blog hop by following this link.  http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org  I think it will be up for a few more days.
In the mean time, I would like to share with you my first attempt at making a Diaper Cake. My daughter's long time girlfriend Cassie and her husband James are having a baby. Regan should be here around the first of the new year. Everyone can't wait as it will be nice to have a new baby around the house. The baby shower was yesterday and we wanted to give her a really nice gift, so I put together this diaper cake. I took 172 diapers to make the cake along with all the goodies included (toys, 2-binkies, bath & body items, 4 receiving blankets, 5 onezies, 5 t-shirts, 1 rubber duck :),10 hangers, and a little stuffed lamb. It weighed about 15-20 lbs. It took me a little over 3 hours to complete it. But it took me about 3 days to sort it out in my head how I was going to construct it lololol. The 10 hangers and a couple dowels and garden wire were  life savers. (Note to self, must have items)
I always learn by doing and the next time (Maybe lolol) I will be more prepared and able to add more paper crafted ideas to it, now that I have a better idea about the size and what all is involved. It was a hit at the shower and everyone thought it was a real cake. Many had never seen or heard of a diaper cake before. Welcome to the world of papercrafters. We can do almost anything in paper if we put our minds to it.
I hope you like it and now you go create something fun.

What a great blog hop we have in store for you this weekend.  I can't  wait to see all the creative ideas everyone has to share with us to celebrate Valentines Day. But first, I have a few business items I am supposed to share with you before I get to my projects ( :

Operation Write Home requests that all Holiday cards are submitted at least 6 weeks prior to a given holiday. Next, I have given you all a link so that you can VOTE DAILY at Joann's Fabric and Craft Store. Operation Write Home could win $50.000 to help support our cause of supplying hand made cards to deployed soldiers. Please vote here http://www.joann.com/CraftForaCause and remember to VOTE DAILY.
Now you get to view what I have created especially for this hop. I hope you enjoy these projects as much as I did in making them. I made 3 cards and a cute little gift box to put them in. Christmas Journal

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy. Wow wasn't that Royal Blog tour the best! There were so many beautiful cards, gift ideas and scrapbook page layouts that my head was swimming. Oh did  I mention Blog Candy?? Well these gals were offering so much eye candy, blog candy and hot tips a plenty. I even won some. I left a message on Marilyn San Clemente's blog about a beautiful card she made with the Snow Swirled stamp set and I won a new stamp set!! Yippee. You need to go see her blog http://www.stampwithmarilyn.com/ she is quite talented and generous too.  Thanks Marilyn for the wonderful blog candy.

Well, I have been really busy this week planning several projects for the Operation Write Home blog hop this weekend. http://operationwritehome.org I can not show them to you yet though lolol . The Blog hop is spotlighting Valentines Cards, as they always work on getting the soldiers card out to them 6 weeks in advance. If you would like to stop by this weekend and see what I have come up with and what the other crafter's have in store for Valentines Day. Stop in on Saturday morning and I will have all the link information ready for you. At least I hope so? I contacted them again today to make sure I'm really in lolol But had not heard back with link info. If not come see what I have done and I'll find a link to hop from here. Operation Write Home is a great program. We make cards that get sent to soldiers here and abroad, so they can send cards to their family, friends and love ones. If you are interested in doing something like this let me know and I will get you connected.

Here is a Christmas Gift idea I have for sale. A Journal for $15.00 plus shipping. If you would like to order one like this please let me know and I will get it out to you. Several pages are stamped inside and there is also a pocket or two for keepsakes.

Thanks for stopping by and go create something fun.

Kids in the Snow

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy! I can not believe I have not created anything all week. I guess the flu took more out of me than I though, and to top that off I almost cut the whole top of my right index finger off :0 so typing and creating kind of went to a stand still. I went through more Band Aids than I would like to admit :). But, as you can see I am on the mend.
So here it is a new Wednesday and I just love Wednesdays, as it is kind of a total me day Yippee! My DH & DD work all day and they both have things to do during the evening so I get a free day mostly just for me hehehe.
Have you ever had a card idea floating around in your head for days and finally got the chance to put in on paper. Well this one was kind of like that. I had always wanted to make characters with the ornament punch and I finally had some time to do it. I think this card turned out really cute. I love the kids mittens and the girls glittery pink hat. I do not know if you can see all the Dazzling Diamonds that I have put on the snow flakes and the edge on the snow drift that the kids are playing behind, but it is there! I used the Ornament punch for the faces and the hats & the Two step Bird Punch for the mittens. I used the new Textured Impression Folder Northern Flurry and the Polka Dot Impression folder for the background and the snow drift. If you have any questions please let me know and I can give you the full details.
Oh My Goodness I almost forgot to tell ya. I have been going to Weight Watchers for a couple months now and I am down 27 pounds. Isn't that the coolest! I can fit into some cloths I have not had on in years. One being the shirt I am wearing in my profile picture. I can also fit into my black leather jacket that my honey bought me 4 years ago for a Valentines gift. Lucky me new cloths to wear just in time for winter. I'll keep you posted from time to time about my progress. Well that seems to be it for today. I have some new things to share with you tomorrow.
Go on now and create something fun OK! Thanks Patrice
