A Little Something Christmas

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this note finds you all well and happy! I had the flu! Yuck!! But I am better now, and I am sure glad about that!! It took me a few days to clear out my e-mails and feel well enough to create. So this is what I came up with. I did a lot of extra things to the ornaments, like adding pearls, glitter & shimmer paint, to dress them up a bit. You really can not see the effect but I think they turned out fun & shiny.  Hope you like them and hope you don't get that bug!!! Create something fun OK.

Cards & Things Sketch Challenge #54

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy!. I found another really cool sketch challenge over at Krista's blog http://krista-kris-challenges.blogspot.com This one was not as easy as it looked. I had a lot of fun trying to get all the colors and paper to match. All products used in making this card are all from Stampin Up. The three Bells & The Merry Christmas images are from the Bells & Boughs stamp set from Stampin' Up's New Holiday Mini Catalog pg.19 clear mount $14.95. In addition, I used Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Red Riding Hood Red Card Stock $6.95. Also from the new Holiday Mini I used Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper only $9.95 pg. 18. I used our Designer Label Punch to punch out one red piece then cut it in half lengthwise. I stamped Merry Christmas on  a Sahara Sand piece of card stock and punched the sentiment out. I then sponged a little color on this Sahara Sand piece to add depth and a little pearl for bling. I attached the Riding Hood Red pieces to the top and bottom of the punched out sentiment. I gold embossed the Bells and used my ink pads and a blender pen to color them in. I layered the Bells on a piece of Shara Sand and Always Artichoke. For fun I added 3 little pearls to each holly berry. I cut a 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 strip of the DSP and added that to the top of the front of the card. To finishe the card off, I added 3 large pearl halves to the left hand side of the card as required by the challenge. Well there you have it. I hope you enjoy this challenge. Now go create something fun.

I finally got it !

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy! I finally figured it out!!! It took some experimenting and a ton of patience to get the effect I wanted with that soot technique. New paper, new candles and lots of trial and error but here you have it I love the effect. It reminds me of the really old Tin Pictures that they first came up with a long time ago. I aged the picture and did some distressing too. I'm happy with it I guess that's all that counts :) Have fun and create something fun OK!

A nice weekend

Hello my blogging friends I hope this post finds you all well and happy! Well the other day I showed you some of the Buffalo cards I made. I really wasn't too happy with the Cajun Craze one so I re did it, I really like how it turned out adding a bit of a complimentary color and some beads I had around really perked it up. I also made a little gift card set for a friend of mine. This box template is so easy to make I think I will write up a tutorial so you can avoid the little pit falls some "easy to do" projects can have. Enjoy and create something fun OK!

Buffalo x 4

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy! I finally got the stamp set, In Wilderness page 117 of the new Stampin' Up Catalog item code  for the clear mount stamp set is #120537 for only $16.95. I have so many ideas for this set I have only just begun to have fun with it!!! I made these 4 cards today and will probably play with it a few more days this weekend. I thought the Buffalo would be great for the soot technique, so I had to order new glossy card stock because I thought the problem I was having when I tried it before was the card stock but after doing a few trial runs today with the new paper it appears I need a different candle one that smokes more???(The cheep kind lolol) So keep posted and see what I come up with. I really like the diversity of the set there are so many color and stamp combination's and elements you can use to create great cards with it. If you would like more information on purchasing this set lewt me know and I will get back to you. Create something fun this weekend OK!

3 Boxes

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy. I have been busy in my stamping studio. We are getting ready for a Home and Garden show in Riverside this weekend. My up-line asked me to create a few gift boxes for her and this is what I came up with. I made several of these last year for a workshop. Each of the gift boxes has 4 3x3 gift cards & envelopes and 3 Nuggets candies that are decorated. I believe I got the idea from Inking Idaho check out here blog here. http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com The idea for the second box of goodies is also from Inking Idaho. I just tweaked each project a bit because I made them from site & no directions. There is a whole row of nuggets under the Rocher candies as my project is a bit deeper. Enjoy and create something fun OK!

Weird Weather!

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you well and happy! We had the strangest weather last week. I took a few pictures of the sky and you will see for yourself. In the front yard there was a beautiful double rainbow and the rain clouds were gorgeous with pinks & blue/grey's. I caught the second rainbow but by the time I ran in to get my camera the first one had faded. The strange thing is that the ground and cars and hills were a deep orange and red color. When I turned around to go back into the house the sky was Yellow and very bright. Talk about weird. I thought I was in one of Michelle Zindorfs cards lol. The trees were black and the sky was yellow white and some orange. Well you all see for your selves. Have a great day today. I'm working on a special project for my Up-Line I'll show you tomorrow when I have finished.
