Gate Fold Card

Hello my blogging friends hope the post finds you all well and happy!. I received a gate fold card from a swap this week and it sure was pretty! So I decided to give it a try. I needed to send a customer a Thank You Card and her receipt for an order she placed this week, so I thought this would be a good card to send her a s a surprise.

Card & Book Mark Swap

Hello my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you well and happy. Today I just sat around and worked on a couple swaps that are due in September. Wow only two how cool is this!!!! I see some free time in the future if i get them done this week! Here is one of them. I made the original card sample done and will have to get going as it is due by the 11th.

The Theme for the swap is Fall. I seem to always start to read more in the Fall and Winter. I like to curl up and snuggle with a nice soft blanket and read a good book. What better goes with a book that a bookmark of course.

I used the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set found on pg. 114, for  $27.95. I used 6 different shades of card stock $6.95 ea  and some Ribbon. Hope you like it!

♠Fond Farewell to VC-Rocks

Hello all my blogging friends, I hope this note finds you all well and happy! We had our closing ceremonies last night on VC Rocks. There was so much chatter going on it was so much fun it is hard to mention all the activities. Lots of awards and acknowledgments and Badges !!! Oh yes badges.  I think I earned 12 of them and that put me as a Gold Medal Winner. Woo Hoo! I also won the Bingo Game and will be soon getting a goody box in the mail full of SU surprises from the new catty from Sheryl :). And I'm also expecting  a little knitted something for my X-Mas Tree from Loni, I can't wait to see what she has knitted. I know it will be supper special.

Honestly, so many of the Rockers were awarded badges because of the high level of participation this summer it is too hard to mention them all, but I do say to everyone Thank You for making my second year truly amazing. All the different badges I earned will be coming in the mail too and I will be posting those as soon as they arrive. I have received 2 of the 4 swaps I entered and I will post those when the rest of them come in. So it will be a fun few weeks for Happy Mail to come.

So a fond farewell to VC_Rocks and all the new friends I have made this summer waveing good by...... or at least until April 2011 !!!! It was a blast! Fondly Patrice

What a day we had yesterday

Hi there my blogging friends. I hope you are all well and happy today. My day was a bit scary yesterday. We had a mini Tornado touch down in our city. We do not usually have Tornado's in Calif. but I have been through a couple in my day and yesterday was a good one. Heavy rains, hail, flash flood in our canyon, downed trees and telephone poles across the Lake. It was a mess when it was over and thank goodness we didn't have too much damage. But I know we need to get a roofer for the porch we are building because it leaks now :(. I had to turn off the computer when the lights started to flicker Glad I did too!!! Wow it has been over 105 all week and now the air smells like earth and it is muggy. I think that is humidity It's a lot better than smog "that s for sure :).

I learned how to make the Satin Ribbon Flower at our Upline Meeting (Thanks Kristi) last month and I also saw it on Carole'Anne's blog too. CaroleAnne's link is on the left hand side of my blog. My daughter asked me to make a baby card so here is what I came up with. I made it last night something to keep me occupied  while we were trying to stay cool. Hope you all are safe and dry! Autumn Leaves

Hello my blogging friends I hope this post finds you all well and happy! I am so done with Summer and over 100 degree temps, that I thought I would try to cool things off a bit!
I put out a shout out for a tutorial of a isel card (What?) I spelled it wrong lolololol No wonder there were no responses hahahah. Well I quickly went back and corrected myself :) and asked for an  Easel Card Tutorial.
Loni got right on it and sent me to Split Coast Stampers (SCS). So here is an RAK I am sending her for her quick response, and not giving me a bad time for my spelling error lolol.I put a big pile of leaves on the bottom of the card to stop the card front from closing.
I must have given away my sample of the "How To" so I have to make another one really quick so I don't forget how to do this again. Have a great day and stay cool!

Last VC_Rocks Card Challenge

Hello my blogging friends. I hope this note finds you all well and happy! Boy it was hot outside today! How hot you ask? About 110 degrees in Lake Elsinore that's how hot! So I stayed in and took advantage of the AC and cooked a bunch of meals for this weeks dinners and created.
We were given our final weekly challenge  on VC_Rocks this week (TEARS) It was to create something using red and a punch a card or a 3D item. I was a little busy so I opted for a card. I love combining yellow with red, black and white together. I think it makes the colors pop! What do you think?
We will have our closing awards ceremonies this Saturday evening this it is always such a bitter sweet event. I just had a ball this summer and next week I am sure I will be going through e-mail withdrawals. I know my DH will love to have me back to spend more cuddle time with him. He is such a trooper during VC_Rocks.

Carolyn S had mentioned she wanted to do a class on the Clock Box that is showcased on the front cover of our New Stampin' Up Catalog. I thought that would be a great project for this Hop, so here is my hand at it. I made a card to go along with it with the extra paper I made. The pair will make a nice gift for someone don't you think!!! Well I hope you have enjoyed the Hop so far and can't wait to see what Mary Campbell has going on at her blog. Just a little something for you

This is a little something I made this morning. I attempted to do another card challenge but I made a mistake and added the wrong re-inker to my ink pad. Yikes!!! (Total bummer if you know what I mean lolol) Have you ever done such a silly thing?? My first and trust me "Never Again". Good thing I can purchase another ink pad from "MY STORE" you can too just let me know and I will get you a catalog and what ever you need to stamp tell your hearts delight. Another Hot Day

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy! Looks like it's going to be another Hot Day today!!! I have got to water my plants tonight for sure!!!!I hope your week is going nicely and you have had a chance to create :)!

Here is another card I made for a swap last week. But I added a few extra things to dress it up a bit for fun. I changed the center flower to pink and added larger pearls and some shimmer paint to it. Have a great day today and stay cool.

It's Hot Outside!

Hello my blogging friends, I hope this note finds you all well and happy! As I said above "It's Hot Outside"!!! It isn't even noon yet and it is 98 degrees. YIKES!!! The air is really dry and the breeze very warm. With that said, I'm going to try to stay inside the house as much as possible today!  I finally finished all 5 swaps for VC_Rocks and need to get them out in the mail ASAP. So I will have to venture outside but, just for a quick second lolol. I had time in between swaps to make a few cards. Here is one that is an adaptation of one of my swaps. I tried my hand at the collage technique using the new Artistic Etchings stamp set. What do you think?

 I went to my Up lines monthly meeting this weekend and we made a really cute Halloween pencil gift. This Owl is really cute and the Owl Punch is so versatile. We tried our had a brayering (that's going to take a lot more practice lolo), and showcased some of the new cloth and vinyl  items that will be avail in the new Holiday Mini starting September 1st. These items were so much better looking in person and up close. Also, if you want to order something from the Summer Mini you have until August 31st. just let me know what you need and I will order it for you.

Back again!

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post finds you all well and happy. I'm BACK ...well to say my Back went out last week I was here but I could hardly sit at the computer never the less create! Yikes, I was going through card making withdrawals :( Here is a card I made before my back went out. It is part of something special I have lined up for the final VC Rocks Blog Hop scheduled for Aug 21 & 22 later this month. Keep your ears and eyes open for it.

Look how dry those hills are. We had another fire about 1.5 miles from us a few weeks ago and 5 different Fire Departments got water from the hydrant near our house.

I wanted to show you a few pictures of my neighborhood. Currently, there are only 5 houses on our little dirt road. Last week the land owner started to develop the property directly across from us. He moved the main road 70 feet off his property, cleared the land, put up a chain link fence and will start to move in 3  mobile homes for rental property in the next few months.

I'm going to try to make a few more cards today as long as I am feeling up to it. Go on and create something fun today OK!
