Hello to all my blogging friends I'm back with the tutorial I promised you.
SPECIAL NOTE!
This is NOT my original design for the fold on the card I believe you can find the original on Split Coast Stampers or over at Technique Junkies Blog. I did design and decorate this finished product however, and this is what I am making the tutorial on. It is only right to give credit where credit is due.
Supplies Needed:
1 piece of So Saffron Card Stock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
2 pieces of card stock 1 in Always Artichoke and 1 in So Saffron Designer Series Paper (DSP) -5 1/4 x 1 7/8
2 pieces of card stock 1 in Marina Mist and 1 in So Saffron DSP - 5 x 1 5/8
1 piece of Whisper White Card Stock - 2 7/8 x 5/8
1 piece of Always Artichoke Card Stock - 3 7/8 x 6/8
1 piece of So Saffron DSP - 4 x 5/8
1 piece of Marina Mist Card Stock 4 1/2 x 1 7/8
1 piece of scrap So Saffron to stamp 2 Hummingbirds
SU Elements of Style Stamp Set
1 Corduroy button (I said 3 but didn't use 2)
Hemp Twine
VersaMark
Glue Dots
Deminsionals
1/6 sponge dipped in Pacific Point Classic Ink to color all edges of DSP and Card Stock
2 small Rhinestones
Bond Folder
So Saffron, Marina Mist and Always Artichoke Markers to color Hummingbirds
Instructions:
Cut a 8.5 x 11 piece of card stock in half 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4 Mountain /Valley style use the bone folder to smooth edges.
Prepare cut card stock and DSP by inking the edges and taping the layers together for the outside and inside folds. Use VersaMark to stamp the inside Marina Mist panel with the scroll stamp of the Elements of Style Stamp Set and set aside before attaching it to the DSP.
Attach the inside large Always Artichoke piece of card stock to the So Saffron DSP piece then attach to the center panel.
Now for the out side panel
Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White piece of card stock and cut it into an arrow. (Remember to sponge ink on all of the pieces of card stock for the front panel. Cut the Always Artichoke piece into an arrow shape as well. Stamp the Marina Mist and Always Artichoke pieces with the scroll stamp with VersaMark set aside to dry. Once dry assemble so that all pieces go on top of the Marina Mist piece, smallest to largest. See sample. Sew Hemp Twine through button holes and trim. (I changed my mind at this point and only used one of the buttons for this project) Attach corduroy button to the Whisper White sentiement piece with a two glue dots.
Attach assembled panel to the front panel. Only use glue dots to secure the right half of the panel. Place this piece about half way down the outside panel or where ever you would like.
Embellishments
Color 2 Hummingbirds in using the So Saffron, Marina Mist and Always Artichoke Markers. Huff to rehydrate markers prior to stamping. Cut them out leaving a small ring of So Saffron around each bird. Attach one Rhinestone to the one eye of the birds each. Attach one bird to the front panel and one to the center panel.
That should do it. The fun thing about making this style card is that you can do almost anything to decorate it.
Here are the original posts that I said I would show you all how I made this card style from.

It's your turn to go create something fun.

This is a great tutorial. You are really good at breaking it down into little pieces to explain. WTG. I am proud as always. We have daffodils in the house!!! There were some out in the yard in back by the woods. I went to see them and Roscoe went into the woods. Fun.
