Sketch Frenzy Friday 10/3/14

Hello to all my blogging friends, I hope this post fins you all well and happy!

Hope you all had a great week! I did! I stamped and stamped and stamped. My house looks a bit dusty but those good ole' house cleaning faeries just didn't show up in time to cover for me?????

But, the good news is it's Sketch Frenzy Friday time again! This weeks sketch was designed by  Kathy Clark and she did a great job on it!

This is the card I created from it.

I received a tutorial from SCS last week on how to make this beautiful Rubbing Alcohol and Markers background. It is an old technique revamped and much easier and cleaner to work with. Why not give it a try.  Here is a link to the Split Coast Stampers Tutorial on how to make the beautiful background made with Rubbing Alcohol and Markers.

I had a hard time deciding on a card stock color for the first layer so, I took a bunch of colors in to Jeff and he said to use the "yellow one" it makes those "purple" colors POP! I promptly told him they were "Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant"! He said "what ever" with a funny face lolol. He was right the yellow and the purples do pop together. My honey is a good go to guy with colors.

How I created this card:

First Layer- Card Base in Daffodil Delight.
Second Layer- Wisteria Wonder
Third Layer- Elegant Eggplant
Forth Layer- Calypso Coral.
Fifth Layer- Hand crafted with Rubbing Alcohol and Markers.
The Flowers - Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral.
Misc- Tangerine Tango Bakers Twine, Decorative Dots Impression Folder and Basic Pearls.

Here is a look at the inside.

I used Yippee Skippee and Feel Good Stamp Sets for the sentiments. I didn't know these two stamp sets had Two in them (haha). They are perfect together.

That's it for this week. I hope you find some time to create a card from this weeks sketch. When you do please upload it on to our blog here  http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
we all would love to see it!

 Thanks for stopping by.

Patrice

Patrice, this is a nice playful card. May have to check out the technique, I don't think I've heard of it before.

Very cool looking effect. I haven't heard of that before. I love the way the colors came out! :)
