Tuesday Tuesday

Hello my blogging friends. I hope this post finds you all well and happy.

I saw a color challenge over at Split Coast Stampers (SCS) today, using Baja Breeze, Marina Mist and Certainly Celery. Those colors just POP with a touch of Black. I love, love, love this color combination!!! This card made it's self. I have used them on another background paper project last summer. What you do is sponge ink directly on to the card stock easy enough right! But if you sponge the ink on to SU's fabulous DSP  Presto Pattern Specialty Paper  the white embossed design resists the ink and just pops out like magic. I knew the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set would do the trick. I black embossed 3 of the images from this set on Marina Mist card stock cut them out and mounted them with dimensionals to the front of the background paper. I added a few Antique Brads and Du Hickeys (lololol), OK Vintage Trinkets (I had to look it up) distressed the edges added a little black Grosgrain Ribbon Knot Bow and there you have it.

Here is the card I made. What do you think?

(Hot Tip) You can make your own background paper by stamping randomly or strategically placing stamped images on card stock using VersaMark. Use White, Clear or Black Embossing Powder depending on the color effect you want and heat set the embossing images. Once cool you can sponge ink directly on to the paper  you will begin to see the magic appear. Give it a try sometime. You will find you just love certain color combination for this technique too. I usually try to use three colors at a time as (light, med & dark) this provides depth to the background.
I took a couple photos of the DSP paper I used on this card to give you a visual example of this technique. Hope this helps.

I'm going to work on a project today that I have promised a few friends I would do a while ago!!! (YIKES).  I hate it when I procrastinate doing something that I know I have to do! Thank goodness that is not very often. The truth is, it's just going to be a challenge for me and I'm afraid I'll do it wrong! Do you ever feel like that? I even know it would bring joy to them, but I dragged my feet for far too long. So today is the day!!!! I hope they will forgive me (PLEASE) and love what I make them. You know a promise is a promise and it's important to keep your word. Have a good day everyone and now it is your turn to go create something fun.

Love that you are showing the inside of your cards too! Sometimes it's hard to get motivated to knock out all the things on your to-do list... LOL, I re-write mine every couple of days and still miss things.. You're a very busy lady!
